Agreement
CV Tailor is operated by Search Click Group Ltd, registered in England and Wales. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use it.
What the service does, and what it doesn't
CV Tailor rewrites a CV you supply against a job advert you supply, and returns a rewrite, a covering email, suggested interview questions and an integrity report.
The integrity report is an automated second check, not a guarantee. It is good at catching claims your original CV doesn't support, but it can miss things. You are responsible for what you send to an employer. Read the rewrite before you use it, and correct anything that doesn't match what you actually did.
We do not promise you an interview, a job, or any particular outcome from an application. Nobody honestly can.
Credits and payment
- Your first generation is free. After that, generations are paid for with credits bought in packs.
- One credit is one generation. Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable.
- Credits do not expire.
- If a generation fails for a technical reason, the credit is returned to your balance automatically.
- Credits are linked to the email address used at checkout, and your browser holds a cookie connecting it to that balance. If you clear cookies or switch device, sign in with the email you paid with and your credits come with you.
- Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred or exchanged for money.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card details.
Cancellation and refunds
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase of digital content. Credits are made available to you immediately, so by buying them you agree to immediate supply and acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel once you have used any credit from that pack.
Unused credits. If you haven't used any credit from a pack, email us within 14 days of buying it and we'll refund that pack in full, no explanation needed.
If something goes wrong. If the service fails and the credit isn't automatically returned, tell us and we'll put it right — a refund or replacement credits, your choice. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Submit a CV that isn't yours, or that you don't have permission to use.
- Use the service to create a CV you know to be false or misleading.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service, circumvent the credit system, or automate use of it.
- Scrape the service, or resell access to it as your own product.
The CVs, emails and reports you produce are yours to use — send them to employers, and if you're a recruiter, share them with the candidate and submit them to your clients. What you can't do is sell access to the tool itself.
We may suspend access where we reasonably believe these terms are being broken. Where we do, unused credits are refunded.
If you're a recruiter or agency
You may use the service on CVs that candidates have given you to represent them. You're responsible for having their permission to process their CV, and for getting their approval before you submit a rewritten version to a client — it goes out under their name. For the candidate's personal data you are the controller and we process it on your behalf, only to produce the rewrite.
Your content
You keep all rights in the CV you upload and in the output you get back. We claim no ownership of either. We do not store your CV after your request finishes — see the privacy policy.
Availability
We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. It depends on third-party services, including Anthropic and Stripe, which can have outages of their own.
Liability
We do not limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under English law.
Otherwise, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost job opportunities, lost earnings or lost applications. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes
We may revise these terms. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the revised version. Changes never apply retroactively to credits you have already bought.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes fall to the courts of England and Wales.
